13 junior golfers competed in an 18 holes trial event at the Gaash Golf Club on Saturday 10 May 2008.
The event was held in order to choose an under 16 yrs. junior boy golfer, to represent Israel at the Junior British Open to be held at the Hesketh Gof Club in Southport England, the week before the British Open.
Asaf Cohen from the Golf Academy at the Caesarea Golf Club was victorious having posted an excellent score of 74 gross and narrowly beating Dor Hacham, also of the Caesarea Academy, by one shot – all decided on a 10 foot putt on the 18th hole.
Asaf will join Laetitia Beck who has been chosen as the girl representative and they will be accompanied by Ofra Stup as team delegate..
The Israel Golf Federation wishes both Laetitia and Asaf t the best of luck.
