The Official announcement from Ministry of Tourism - Click here...

The Ministry of Tourism and the Lands Administration have decided on a budget of 760 million shekels toward this project.
On the 12th of February 2008, by my initiation, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Tourism offices in Jerusalem. The objective of the meeting was to try and bring to the attention of the authorities the worldwide boom in golf tourism and that Israel should be part of that boom.
We all know that one of the prime objectives of the Israel Golf Federation is to promote the sport of golf in Israel as well as to encourage the building of as many new golf courses as possible.
Present at that meeting were representatives of the Ministry of Tourism headed by Mrs. Carmit Pinch-Kedmi, Director of the department of Physical Planning and representatives of the Israel Golf Federation, Mike Ossip (Past Chairman) Irit Peleg (Secretary) Teddy Kenny (avid golfer who for many years has made tireless efforts to bring to the attention of the authorities, the importance of building golf courses in Israel) and myself.
I am pleased to report that the outcome of that meeting was that a steering committee would be formed with the purpose of investigating the issue and then to draw up a master plan for the promotion of tourism to Israel by building more golf courses.

This was done and representatives of the Israel Golf Federation were invited to be an integral part of that committee.
The first meeting of the steering committee took place in June 2009 and just last week the third and final meeting took place and the result is what was published yesterday in the newspapers and seen on the internet.

THE ISRAEL GOLF FEDERATION IS PROUD TO BE PART OF THIS VENTURE
